Alberto Libanori
Alberto Libanori joined in 2019 as a Graduate Student Researcher and Teaching Assistant in the school of Bioengineering. Prior to joining the Khademhosseini lab, Alberto was an Investment Fellow at M Ventures (New Businesses), the corporate Venture Capital arm of Merck KGaA; investing in biotech, life-sciences and deep-tech ventures including cultured meat (Mosameat), interstitial biosensors (Biolinq), and brain-computer interface (Neurable). Previously, Alberto was Licensing and Business Development Manager at L’Oréal Research and Innovation, focusing on tech transfer deals and technical M&A due-diligence worldwide, and worked with Novartis Venture Funds (NVF) on Asia-related investments. More recently, Alberto applied his experience in the cosmeceutical industry co-founding Atelier Mnemist SAS, a company specialized in bespoke fragrance creation through AI and robotics (2 filed patents) and was an R&D business development consultant for Cutech (acquired by Symrise) – a biotechnology company focused on ex vivo skin, sebaceous glands and hair follicle models to test cosmetic, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical actives. As an Advisor at the Centre for Healthcare Innovation (non-for-profit), Alberto actively coaches entrepreneurs in the cosmeceutical and dermatological fields. Alberto and holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Biomolecular Sciences (Virology) from St Andrews University and a Master’s in Bioscience Enterprise from Cambridge University, and is based in Los Angeles Contact: a.libanori@ucla.edu
