Serge Ostrovidov
Serge Ostrovidov received his Ph.D. degree in biology and health from Nancy University, France, for which he worked on the antioxidative properties of new selenated molecules. From 1998 to 2001, he worked in immunology at Northwestern University, Chicago, USA, on the role of oxidative metabolites in altering the immune response. He moved then to Japan where he worked on BioMEMS during several years at the University of Tokyo. During 5 years he was a scientist at Pentax Corporation (Japan) working mainly on biomaterials such as hydroxyapatite and polyethylene terephthalate. From 2010-2017, he then worked on biomaterials and skeletal muscle tissues engineering in the Khademhosseini’s laboratory at WPI-AIMR in Tohoku University (Japan). He then moved to the USA, and is currently Assistant Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he continues to work on biomaterials and tissues engineering in the new Khademhosseini’s laboratory.
