Congratulations are in order for a few of ourcurrent members and alumni who have found academic and industrial positions. Serge Ostrovidov has been promoted to Assistant Professor atWPI-AIMR at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan. Serge has previously developedimportant methods for generating microscale neural and muscle tissues. Also, Alpesh Patel will be LivingProof in Cambridge as Sr. ResearchScientist. Alpesh developed advancedbiomaterials for tissue engineering applications while being a NSERC fellow inthe lab. Finally, Nezam Nezamoddini-Kachouie,an alumni of the lab (also an NSERC fellow 2008-2010), is appointed as anAssistant Professor of Mathematical Sciences at Florida Tech starting 2012. While in the lab Nezam worked on theapplications of image processing and statistical analysis to high-throughputstem cell research and combinatorial experiment design.
