We are pleased to announce that Dr. Khademhosseini has just been selected by the Blavatnik Family Foundation as a 2014 National Award Finalist for the Blavatnik Award for Young Scientists in the area of Physical Sciences and Engineering. With the guidance of the New York Academy of Sciences, the Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists was founded in 2007 to celebrate the innovative achievements of young postdoctoral and faculty scientists who work in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut. This is the inaugural year for the National Award, which will honor three scientists under the age of 42 from leading research universities and academic medical centers in chemistry, life sciences, and physical sciences and engineering with the $250,000 prize. Len Blavatnik, philanthropist and founder of the international industrial group, Access Industries, envisions the National Award to be “something like a Nobel Prize for young scientists”, The three winners will be announced in September 2014.
