Hossein Montazerian

Hossein received his BSc in Mechanical Engineering (Ranked 1st) at Shahid Rajaee University, Tehran, Iran (2015) and continued his MASc studies at The School of Engineering, University of British Columbia, Canada in 2018. During the course of his undergraduate studies, he had multiple contributions to the field of bone tissue engineering. His undergraduate research was primarily focused on the design and mechanical characterization of the 3D-printed porous bone scaffolds (read more). As a part of his MASc studies, Hossein’s research was further extended to the area of stretchable and wearable sensors for health monitoring applications where he took advantage of conducting polymers for enhancing the piezoresistive characteristics of embedded sensors. At UBC, he worked in Composites Research Network and Advanced ThermoFluidic Laboraties, and involved in many projects in collaboration with the industrial partners such as DLR Germany. Based on his accomplishments he was recently selected as 2018 UBC rising stars. Hossein joined Bioengineering Department at UCLA in Fall 2018 and he is so excited to pursue his PhD studies in Khademhosseini Lab to contribute in the cutting edge research on the development of next-generation biomaterials for tissue regenerative applications.
