Petar Antovski

Petar Antovski is from Skopje, Macedonia. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering from UCLA in 2018 and he is continuing his Ph.D. Bioengineering studies at UCLA in Molecular, Cellular, Tissue Therapeutics. He has extensive experience in theranostic nanoparticle drug and gene delivery and CRISPR gene editing. In the past he has worked on nanoparticle drug delivery for the treatment of onychomycosis, one of the most frequent nail fungus infections, and nanoparticle gene delivery for CRISPR mediated gene editing of the dystrophin gene in cells from patients with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). For his work he was co-authored in a publication in the journal ACS Nano. He joins the Khademhosseini Lab to work on in situ tissue regeneration utilizing his experience in CRISPR and he hopes to expand his knowledge through cooperation with the multidisciplinary team at the Khademhosseini Lab. In his free time Petar enjoys travelling, working out, watching movies, playing video games and trying out new things.
