Fatemeh Nasrollahi

Dr. Fatemeh Nasrollahi received her Ph.D. degree in Nanotechnology, Chemical Engineering from University of Tehran, Iran. During her Ph.D. studies she focused on preparation and functionalization of multi-functional nanobiomaterials for drug delivery, fluorescence and magnetic resonance imaging in cancer therapy. She worked in close collaboration with Pharmaceutical Dept. of Isfahan Medical School, for development of novel graphene-based nanocarriers for efficient delivery of water-insoluble anti-cancer drugs as well as cellular imaging.  Then She started working at Biomedical Engineering Dept. of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, wherein she obtained broad experience in development of ferritin nanocages loaded with iron and functional nanomaterials to expand their multifunctionality in simultaneous fluorescence and magnetic resonance imaging.

Fatemeh joined Prof. Khademhosseini’s Lab in February 2019 as a post-doctoral scholar at UCLA, California Nanosystems Institute (CNSI). Here she is pursuing her research on preparation and characterization of biomaterials, including but not limited to engineered hydrogels, for tissue engineering, drug capturing and delivery, imaging and other therapeutic applications.
