Shiming Zhang

Dr. Shiming Zhang received his BASc and MASc degrees in Electrical Engineering from Jilin University (China). In November 2017, he obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique, University of Montreal (Canada). His research focuses on the development of organic electronic devices, such as organic light-emitting diodes, organic electrochemical transistors, and flexible organic bioelectronic devices. He joined the Khademhosseini’s lab in January 2018 as a postdoctoral researcher in the California NanoSystems Institute at UCLA. His research with Prof. Khademhosseini is to develop flexible electronic devices for medical applications. He was awarded by Canada Federal Government the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship (2014), by Quebec Government the Merit Scholarship for International Students (2014), and by China Government the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Student Abroad (2016). His Ph.D. thesis was nominated the best thesis award of the university.
