The Royal Society of Chemistry was established in 1841, when a group of 77 people (including doctors, academics, manufacturers and entrepreneurs) formed the Chemical Society of London, with dialysis inventor Thomas Graham as their first president. To this day, the number has grown to include 51,000 members and continues to support and unite chemical scientists together from all over the world. Dr. Ali Khademhosseini, the director of BIRC, has recently been appointed as a Fellow within the Royal Society of Chemistry- the highest distinction available. We would like to congratulate Dr. Ali Khademhosseini for this great achievement and distinction.
